Holy Orders

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”

John 20:21

Ordination is the sacred rite through which a man is consecrated as a deacon, priest, or bishop with the Catholic Church. Through the laying on of hands and a solemn prayer of consecration by a bishop, the individual receives the grace and spiritual authority to carry out specific ministerial duties. Ordination imprints an indelible spiritual mark, setting the man apart for lifelong serve to the Church. This sacrament is rooted in apostolic tradition and ensures the continuation of Christ’s mission through the ordained ministry.
